Movement & Gymnastics Classes for Kids (ages 5-8 )

We’re excited to announce the return of our CrossFit Kids Class!

Starting June 16th, we’ll be offering a class for the young fitness enthusiast in your life.

Led by coach Aleya Hutchens, this class will be for kids ages 5-8 (depending on maturity).

We will be focusing on making fitness fun through games and short workouts where the intent will be learning how to move properly while also burning off some of that endless energy that is so prevalent for that age group.

These classes will be on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 11:30 to noon and the cost will be $60 a month.

What is CrossFit Kids?

The CrossFit Kids curriculum is designed to introduce kids to essential body and movement mechanics and focuses on creating a broad athletic foundation. Classes combine gymnastics, body-weight calisthenics and will focus on balance, hand/eye coordination, teamwork, independence, and most importantly fun! By paring fitness and play based activities we believe it’s possible to create a lifelong love of health and fitness to our children.

  • Balance

  • Coordination

  • Games

  • Body Awareness

  • Team Work & Socialization

  • Confidence

  • Fostering a life-long love of fitness

How it works:

Each 30 min class starts with a group warmup followed by an obstacle course, game, or short “workout”. It ends with a cool down and stretch. The movements and activities will be body weight only (air squats, arm press, plank, and burpees). These movements will be applicable to the real world. For example, working on picking things up from the floor, standing from a chair and getting up off the ground.

Meet Coach Aleya
CrossFit Coach, ACE Certified Kids' Coach

Growing up my parents enrolled me in the occasional dance and gymnastics class and I played SSA soccer until the age of 10. I hated all of it. Playing sports and working out was never my forte until I started CrossFit in 2011. I was so far out of my element and I had so much to learn. I jumped right into taking several classes a week and gradually began to learn the basic skills and awareness of my body. I have a passion for teaching young athletes to love fitness and exercise. Making fitness fun ensures that your child will develop a love of movement that will last a lifetime!
